Mission Projects
When we began fund raising for the refurbishment of our church in 2005 we felt it right to give 10% of what we raised to help other churches overseas, particularly in Sierra Leone where one of our ministers had served for 5 years. When the refurbishment costs had all been met we decided to carry on raising money for other Christian works and established a Mission Projects Group to do this. Our current target is £15000 a year, much of which is sent overseas.
Special fund raising events are held regularly to publicise and raise funds for worthy organisations. Some of these are evangelistic in nature, some amusing, some cultural & musical. They vary from concerts by world class choirs and musicians to an annual family fun day and dog show (now being led by the Stamford Scouts) on Stamford Meadows. All these events are of a high standard and are often enjoyable sociable occasions.
Since 2010 our cafe "The Well" has raised over £75 000 for the various Mission Projects supported by the Church.
This year's charitable commitments are:

60% - Bugembe Youth Skills Training Centre, Uganda - renovation and upgrading

20% - 2nd Stamford Town Scouts - new HQ

The project support funded by our church will:

Install a functional waterborne toilet and sewage system

Renovate the existing building to create a safe attractive and functional learning environment

Construct a secure perimeter fence

Construct lock up shops to make them self sufficient

For over a century, Stamford 2nd Scouts has offered a range of activities and adventures for young people from the age of four to 18.
Today our group has over 200 members, but, our current HQ at Empingham Road is inaccessible, outdated, cramped, and just can’t keep up with the growing needs of our members or the equipment we need for all our awesome activities.
So ... We've launched a New HQ Project to build a multi-functional space on our existing 2.25 acre site at Empingham Road.
We’re building for our Scouts, our community and future generations.
